Indenture between Thomas Wallace & William Ray 28 Dec 1839 Elbert Co, GA Deed - Thomas Wallace to William C. Ray Georgia : This Indenture made and entered into this the Elbert County : twenty eighth day of December Eighteen hundred and thirty nine between Thomas Wallace of the one part and William C. Ray of the other part both of the county and state aforesaid. Witnesseth that the said Thomas Wallace for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred Dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold and conveyed and so by these presents bargain sell and convey unto the said William C. Ray all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county and State aforesaid on the waters of North Beaverdam Creek it being a part of a tract of one thousand acres originally granted to William Bibb, and deeded to the said Thomas Wallace by Charles Hendry and bounded as follows; beginning on a pine corner and running S 30 E 71 chains on Bownes (?) land to a white oak corner, Thence N 65 E 5 chains 50 links down the Branch to a Hickory corner on Fleming Wanlows land thence N 32 E 50 chains to a post oak corner on said Wanslows line, Thence on Elbert J. Brown's line to a post oak corner on William Jones'es line, Thence on said line to the beginning; Containing one hundred acres more or less together with and singular the rights and appurtenance there unto belonging to have and to hold the said lot or parcel of land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging and I the said Thomas Wallace do for myself my heirs and assigns warrant and forever defend the rights and title of the aforesaid premises unto the said William C. Ray his heirs and assigns free from the just claim of myself my heirs and assigns or any other person whatever in fee simple in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date above written.
