This indenture made and done this eleventh day of February in the year of our 
Lord one thousand eight hundred and one (11 Feb., 1801) between John White and 
his wife, Mildred White, of the County of Elbert and State of Georgia of the 
one part and Thomas Oglesby of the said County and State aforesaid of the other 
part.

Witnesseth, that the said John White and Mildred, his wife, for and in 
consideration of the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid 
at and before sealing of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged, have bargained, sold, aliened, and confirmed and, by these 
presents, do bargain, sell, alien, and confirm unto Thomas Oglesby, his heirs 
and assigns, all that tract of land lying on Doves Creek in the said County of 
Elbert containing two hundred and fifty acres bounded Northwestward by John 
Morris’ land, Southward by vacant land, Northeastwardly by Oglesby’s land, 
originally granted to Henry Dunkin of the County and State aforesaid, to have 
and to hold the said tract of land and premises with appurtenances thereof, and 
do warrant and forever defend the same against the claim of all persons 
whatsoever unto the said Thomas Oglesby, his heirs and assigns, forever.

In witness whereof, the said John White and MIldred, his wife, have here unto 
set their hands and seals this day and date above written.
