By virtue of an order of the Honorable Inferior Court of Elbert County directing the sale of Real Estate of Middleton Woods, expose to sale at Public outcry at the Elbert County Courthouse on July 4, 1815, one tract of land on Broad River containing 200 acres including an island in said river adjoining lands of Thomas Posey & others. Said tract was conveyed to William Black to Reuben Eastin and afterwards sold by the Sheriff as property of Eastin & purchased by Middleton Woods and James Oliver being the highest bidder for the sum of $306 dollars. Registered September 11, 1815 81/16 Elbert County Deed Book P: 130 [Note. The date of indenture was shown as July 12, 1850, it was exposed for sale July 4, 1815 and registered September 11, 1815. Elbert County Deed Book “P” covered the period 1813-1816.
