Legislative Act Recognizing Denney's Ferry Elbert County, GA On December 22, 1822, the Georgia Legislature passed an Act that officially recognized Denny's Ferry as a crossing point on the Broad River to be operated by (the heirs of Edward Denney): Edward (A.) Denny, David Denny, Thomas Denny, Robert Denny, John Penn, in the right of his wife, Jane, Catherine Denny, and Peggy (Margaret) Denny.
