Military Record - World War I 

Leon Lumpkin Eavenson

His Honorable Discharge from the United States Army, dated 
30 Jul 1919 at Camp Gordon, GA reflects he enlisted on 
22 Jul 1918 at Elberton, GA at the age of 24, was assigned
to the 315th Labor Bn., Quartermaster Corps, from 29 Aug 1918 
to 26 Jul 1919, left the United States on 3 Sep 1918, served
in the American Expeditionary Force in France, arrived back
in the United States on 22 Jul 1919, was appointed Sergeant
on 1 Sep 1918 which was his rank upon discharge. His Army 
Serial Number was 3995301. 

[Submitter's notes: He was born on 13 May 1894 in Elbert Co., 
GA, the son of William Allen Eavenson and Roxie Ella Adams. 
He died on 10 Dec 1971 in DeKalb Co., GA. His brother Paul 
Paschal Eavenson also served in the Army with the AEF in 
France from July 1918 to July 1919 and was in the Meuse-
Argonne conflict.]
