The following article appeared in the Elberton Star on
13 June 1890: 

"AN OLD ELBERT BOY - Receives a Flattering Appointment. 

"Mr. Beverly W. Hall, formerly of Elbert, who has just 
completed his studies in the senior class of the 
University, has accepted the position of city editor of
the Athens Banner. Mr. Hall will make his mark in 
journalism, as it is a well known fact that Elbert boys 
always succeed in anything they undertake."
