Brown The following article appeared in the 25 Sep 1931 issue of the Elberton Star newspaper: "Mr. I. H. Brown suffers stroke of paralysis. "Mr. Isham H. Brown, 84 years old, native of Elbert Co., Confederate veteran and member of an old and influential family of this section, was stricken with paralysis Wed. morning at his home in Hickory, Miss. His entire right side is involved. Latest information is that Mr. Brown is resting easy and is getting along as well as could be expected. Mr. Brown has visited his son, Clois C. Brown, in Elberton frequently within the past few years. He went to the war from Elbert County, leaving for Mississippi about half a century ago. He is half brother to Rev. T. J. Rucker, Clerk of Court W. A. Rucker, L. M. Brown, Lon C. Brown and Cran O. Brown." Submitted by: Chandler Eavenson
