The following article appeared in the Elberton Star newspaper 
on 12 Jun 1934: 

"Many Elbertonians at Big Chicago Fair. 

"Those leaving last Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Harris Bond for a
tour of Chicago, Detroit, Canada and other points of interest 
were Misses Mary Brown, Louise Drennan, Irene Hewell of Dewy
Rose, Julia Teasley of Bowman and Messrs. Tom Starke, James 
Christian, Jack Mewbourn and J. W. Eavenson, Jr."
