This file was contributed by: Chandler Eavenson http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00030.html#0007294 ================================================================== Newspaper article In the 18 Jan 1932 edition of the Elberton Star newspaper was a photo and article about the 98th birthday of Mrs. Adeline Eberhardt Deadwyler, as follows: "Mrs. Adeline Eberhardt Deadwyler, beloved Elbertonian, was born in Madison county, GA January 15, 1834. She was married in 1853 to Dr. Milton Pope Deadwyler, afterwards a leading physician of Elberton, who passed away about 35 years ago. Mrs. Deadwyler is the only living charter member of the Elberton First Baptist church, and it was largely through her aid that the present splendid church edifice was built. Mrs. Deadwyler's hearing is slightly impaired, and she is confined at home a large portion of her time by injuries received in a fall some time ago. But at the age of 98 years her eyes are undimmed and her mental faculties are quick and alert, and her firm and positive character indicats that she will live far past the century mark."
