RE: Eavenson reunion, 24 Aug 1917

The following article appeared in the 4 Sep 1917 edition
of the Elberton Star newspaper: 

"The Eavenson reunion was held on Friday, August 24th at
the old Eavenson home near Centerville. There were about
two hundred friends and relatives present. Never did the
dear old home seem lovelier than on this occasion. The 
steep encircling hills, the clear bubbling spring and the
gentle rippling of the brook seemed to whisper that every 
one was happy. 

"Prof. T. J. Cleveland and Col. Geo. C. Grogan gave 
excellent speeches in the forenoon, in which a detailed
account of the Eavenson family was given for three or four
generations back. 

"Another important feature of the day was the delicious
dinner which was spread on the lawn in the shade of the 
stately trees. The afternoon was spent in pleasant 
conversation and eating fruits and melons. The following
are the names of those who attended:
