The following article appeared in the Elberton Star newspaper
on 12 Jun 1934: 


"Kiwanians Attend Inter-Club Meeting. 

"Among thos attending the Kiwanis inter-club meeting in 
Gainesville last night were Messrs Sam Bowie, Lester Hewell, 
John Yarbrough, Clark Edwards, Joe Allen, S. B. Seymour, 
Thomas Rucker, J. N. Rice, Sam Patz, Joe McGinty, John Frank
Harper and Mrs. George Watson and Miss Ruth Haley."
