All but one of the five sons were doctors. There were three girls in this family. We do not know when he arrived in White Co.. His homeplace was located in the Town Creek Section - between a Hunt homeplace and Hood's Chapel. This was near Mt. View Church. The house still stands I believe. You should find markers for the couple at Shoal Creek. The Doctor died March 13, 1908. The Doctor was stricken with a stroke several years before his death; however, he continued to administer to the sick. A devoted doctor, he was away from his home a great deal of time. Many times, when night came, he would spend the night at the home of the patient, if he felt it necesary for the well being of the patient. There was one son from the first marriage, Joe Dunigan, Jr. (called "Little Joe" when young). He lived in Gainesville and was elected Superintendent of Hall County Schools. He married Fannie Brewer, and they had three daughters and one son. "Little Joe" died during World War II (around 1942). He was 33 or 34 years of age before he married. Their only son, Joe Dunigan, Jr. lived in Avondale Estates and worked at the Trust Co. of Georgia. [name of living daughter omitted].
