Death of An Old Citizen---Arrest of Negroes Charged With Assault. Elberton, Ga., July 25- Mr. William Grimes, an old citizen of the county, died near Elberton on the 23rd. He had a difficulty with Charles Blackwell and wife, negroes living on his place, some time ago, in which he got a fall and broke his arm. He exonerated the negroes from all blame in the matter, but being very old, his sons suspect foul play, and sued out a warrant for the negroes, charging them with assault with intent to murder, and they were placed under bond. Coroner Beck summoned a jury and held an inquest over his body. The jury after hearing the evidence of the attending physicians, returned a verdict of death from natural causes, without a post mortem examination. There will probably be a national bank established in Elberton as soon as Colonel Swift can get the building ready. The bulk of the capital to come from a distance.
