John Henry Fortson and appeared in a newspaper, presumably in Elbert or Wilkes Co., GA in 1897: "Death of Mrs. H. M. Adams August 10, 1897, I was called upon to conduct the funeral service of Mrs. Mollie E. Adams. She was born May 24, 1855; united with the Friendship church 1868, was married to Rev. H. M. Adams, October 11, 1887 and died August 9, 1897. "I never knew a purer woman. As a wife, she sacrificed herself for her husband, she sought only his pleasure, comfort, to aid and hold him up, and to assist him in his work and efficiency. Never did she cross him or his work. She gave her life to him, his work and the Lord. In the family she was always kind and helpful. She sweetened the household. Before her marriage and after the death of her mother, she was a mother to her brothers and sisters. How they respected and loved her. She was a benediction to them. She was the same to and among her neighbors. In the churches of her husband she carried this same sweetness, working with them and for them. Each church soon learned to love and honor her. As an evidence of this, members from each of Bro. Adams' churches came to see her while sick, although some lived miles away. "We suppose there was more anxiety and prayer for sister Adams than there ever was for any other sick woman in Wilkes county. The truth of his is not doubted. She was converted under my ministry, and I baptized her about 29 years ago. She has ever been true to her church--steady in her Christian deportment, firm in faith, and consecrated to Christ. "She said toher husband the day she died, "O, I am so happy. I do not know what you will do, but I am so happy." Her way was clear. She could say, "I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course; I have kept the faith henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." "She rests with the Lord and her loved ones in glory. You say I speak too highly of sister Adams? I wish you had known her as I have. Bro. H. M. Adams has need to thank God for the loan of this angel of comfort for nearly ten years. We, the whole community extend to him our sympathy and our prayers. "May the Lord comfort him; may he kiss the loving hand that directed this providence." [Sumitters notes: Mollie E Goolsby was the daughter of Isaac N. Goolsby and Sarah E. ?Eades. Rev.
