Adams The following obituary appeared in the 1 Jan 1915 edition of the Elberton Star newspaper: ""Prominent Bowman Citizen died December 22nd. "Mr. Millard F. Adams died at his home in Bowman Tuesday, December 22 and was laid to rest in the Bowman cemetery the following day. Mr. Adams had been in declining health for some years, but pneumonia was the immediate cause of his death. He was 62 years old and is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. W. A. Teasley of Bowman, Mrs. R. W. Norris of Shreveport, LA, Miss Addie Adams of Bowman, W. H. Adams of Nashville, Tenn., and Roy Adams who is traveling in the far west. All of the children were with him when the end came except the last named. Mr. Adams was one of the best citizens of Elbert county, loved and respected by all who knew him. He formerly served as tax receiver of Elbert county. For some years he ws a resident of Elberton, but spent most of his life in Bowman." [Submitted by: Chandler Eavenson]
