Brown, stepmother of J. J. Brown, state commissioner of agriculture, who died Sunday at the residence of a son, Roy M. Brown, 138 Kings highway, Decatur, will be held today at Bowman, her childhood home, and internment will be in the family burial plot near Bowman. Mrs. Brown, who was 70 years old, was born in Hart county, and spent the greater part of her life in that section. She moved to Atlanta 13 years ago and two years ago left this city to take up her residence with a son in Decatur. Mrs. Brown was prominent in all civic projects of the city, and was an active church worker. She had been a member of the Methodist chuch since childhood, and belonged to St. John's Methodist church for several years. She was also a member of several Decatur clubs and organizations. She is survived by two sons, R. M. and J. Marion Brown, of Atlanta, three stepsons, J. J. and W. A. Brown, of Atlanta, and A. J. Brown, of Thomasville, N. C.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Lula Winn, of Atlanta; Mrs. Dora Kelly, of Athens, and Mrs. Laura Winn, of Washington, Ga.; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Brown, of College Park; Mrs. Evelyn Hilliard, of Bowersville, and Mrs. Mary Smith, of Elberton, and two brothers, Luther Cunningham, of Hartwell, and Barks Cunningham, of Royston.
