Elberton, Ga., August 1- Mr. D. M. Carlton, one of the oldest and best known citizens of Elbert, died at his home near Elberton last night and was buried this afternoon at Falling Creek church, of which he had lived a consistent member for many years. Mr. Carlton was the father of Rev. Thomas C. Carlton, of Slater, Mo., and of Dr. James Carlton, of South Carolina. The funeral services were conducted in a most impresssive manner by Rev. H. W. Williams. pastor of the Baptist church here.
