Atlanta Constitution, 7 Nov 1895 
Elberton, Ga., November 6 - The remains of Dr. M. P. Deadwyler were buried 
yesterday in the city cemetery. His burial was attended by, perhaps, the 
largest crowd that ever attended a funeral in Elberton. The Baptist church was 
packed to its utmost capacity. Rev. H. W. Williams, his pastor, paid a most 
beautiful tribute to the dead. The pallbearers were from his profession and 
were as follows: Dr. A. J. Mathews, Dr. J. E. Johnson, Dr. A.S.J. Stovall, Dr. 
B. F. Smith, Dr. J. E. Earle, Dr. J. E. Mell, Dr. T. S. Fortsun and Dr. 
Bishop. A large number of friends from a distance were present. 

Additional Comments:
Records of Elmhurst cemetery in Elberton show Dr. Milton Pope Deadwyler, born 
6 Apr 1824, died 4 Nov 1895, and beside him Adeline Eberhart Deadwyler, born 
15 Jan 1834, died 23 Aug 1934 - 100 years old.  Madison Co., GA marriage 
records show Milton P. Deadwyler and Adaline P. Eberhart were married on 21 
Dec 1852.
