"A long distance telephone message received in Elberton this morning announced the sudden death of Mr. John Duncan of College Park, 43 years of age, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Duncan former residents of Elberton. Mr. Duncan's death came as a complete surprise to his family and friends. After a hearty breakfast this morning he left for his duties as Railway mail clerk and died in Gainesville. Surviving are his aged parents, a brother Mr. Broadus Duncan, a sister Mrs. Mamie Reed, his widow and two small children, and a grown daughter by a former marriage."
