The Elberton Star, 22 Jul 1898
Mr. George W. Eavenson, one of Centerville's best citizens and oldest landmarks,
died at his home lst Saturday. His remains were interred at the Concord 
cemetery Sunday afternoon. 

Additional Comments:
George W. Eavenson, born 23 Feb 1817, died 16 Jul 1898, son of George 
Eavenson (1782-1843) and Mary Hilley (1781-1855), married first on 
1 Aug 1838 to Sarah Smith Thornton(1839-1863) and second on 2 Feb 1865 
to Frances Jane Hunt (1834-1918). He had 12 children by each wife, his 
wives being first cousins to each other and granddaughters of Benjamin
Thornton, Sr.
