The Elberton Star, 22 Jul 1898
Mr. George W. Eavenson, one of Centerville's best citizens and oldest 
landmarks, died at his home last Saturday. His remains were interred 
at the Concord cemetery Sunday afternoon. 

Additional Comments:
George W. Eavenson, born 23 Feb 1817, died 16 Jul 1898, was the son of 
George Eavenson(1782-1843) and Mary Hilley(1781-1855). He married first
on 1 Aug 1839 in Elbert Co. to Sarah Smith Thornton and second on 
2 Feb 1865 in Elbert Co. to Frances Jsne Hunt(1834-1918). He had 12 
children by first wife and 10 children by second wife. His two wives were
first cousins to each other, both granddaughters of Benjamin Thornton, Sr.
