FORTSON CLAIMED BY DEATH - Mrs. James M. Fortson, about 54 years old, died last night at his home in the upper part of the county. His body will be laid to rest in the cemetery at Deep Creek church this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Mr. Fortson was one of the good citizens of the county, and commanded the confidence and respect of all who knew him. He had been a patient sufferer for many, many years, gradually growing weaker and weaker until the end. He is survived by his wife and five sons and two daughters - Jim Tom, John C., Ralph, Everett, Hal and Mrs. Mattie Lou Hendrick and Edna Fortson." He was the son of Confederate Soldier Asa Chandler Fortson and wife Louisa Catherine Hall, daughter of Confederate Soldier Lt.
