W. Ginn, 69.... Emory W. Ginn, 69, former police captain who served with the Atlanta Police Department for 25 years, died Monday in a private hospital. Mr. Ginn was born in Elbert Co. but had lived in Atlanta for the past 50 years. He was a member of Lake Clair Baptist Church and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, Lodge No. 702. He resided at 393 Gordon Ave., NE. Mr. Ginn retired from the police force six years ago, but had served as a bank officer at the First Federal Savings bank. Funeral services will be at 11 am Wednesday at Dillon's Chapel with Rev. Tim W. Holbrook and Rev. Louis F. Huckaby officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. Survivors include his widow, the former Birdie Martin; daughter, Mrs. Madeline DeLamar, Atlanta; brother P. H. Ginn, Atlanta; sisters, Mrs. J. B. Ardoyno and Mrs. Robert Johann, both of Atlanta, and Mrs. Jewel Miller, Detroit. Additional Comments: GA death index shows he died 31 Jul 1961 in Baldwin Co., GA. Elbert Co. census and marriage records show he was the son of Patrick H. Ginn, Sr., born Feb. 1868, and Electra White, born Jun 1870, married 13 Feb 1889, who had children Emory W., Carter W. Vera M., Patrick H., Jr., Frank B., Jewell W. and Irene. In the 1920 census P.H., Sr., Electra and children were residing in Clarke Co., GA.
