The following obituary appeared in the 24 Sep 1907 
edition of the Elberton Star newspaper: 

"SUDDEN DEATH OF PROMINENT CITIZEN.
Mr. C. W. Hall Stricken With Paralysis and Dies in
Few Hours. 

"At the advanced age of seventy-seven years, Mr. C. W. 
Hall, of Bowman, died this morning at 1 o'clock from a
second stroke of paralysis, the former stroke occurring
about five years ago. The stroke came about the middle
of the afternoon and he was unable to talk and remained
apparently unconscious until the end came. We have not
been able to learn further details. He was the father
of Mr. George A. Hall of Elberton. He leaves a wife and
several children and many friends and relatives to 
mourn his departure."
