This file was contributed by: Chandler Eavenson http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00030.html#0007294 ================================================================== The following obituary appeared in the Elberton Star in Aug., 1927: "Mrs. Lina Hewell Died at Dewy Rose Thursday - Mrs. Lina Hewell, 71 years of age, widow of the late Alexander Hewell, died Thursday afternoon at her home near Dewy Rose, after an illness covering many months duration. Mrs. Hewell was an invalid, having been confined to her bed for about five years. Being a devout Christian woman, she bore her afflictions with great patience. She joined the Baptist Church in youth and died a strong believer in that faith. The funeral was conducted today at 2:30 o'clock at the home, her pastor, Rev. E. R. Goss, officiating. The interment was at the Bowman cemetery. She is survived by the following children: Isaiah, John W., Lester D., Ora Goss, Asa G., Willon, Thomas A. Hewell, Mrs. Geo. Cordell and Mrs. F. J. Pulliam, all of Elbert County." [Submitter's notes: Salina Anne Dickerson (1856-1927) married Thomas Alexander Hewell in Elbert Co. on 9 Dec 1875. She was the daughter of John T.
