J. Jones Passes Away Monday ---------- Mrs. W. J. [Wm. John] [Laura A. Hall] Jones, 78 years old, wife of one of the leading citizens and successful farmers of lower Elbert county, died at her home near Beulah Monday, following an illness of several weeks. Her body will be laid to rest in the cemetery at Bethel church this afternoon at 4 o'clock. The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. J. C. West, assisted by Rev. A. T. Hind and Rev. John Yarbrough. Mrs. Jones was born and reared in South Carolina but has been a resident of Elbert county the greater portion of her life. She is survived by her husband and a large family of children -- W. E. [Wad], O. D. [Obie] and W. A. [William] Jones of Elbert county, and J. H. [James Homer] Jones of Spartanburg, S. C., Mrs. S. H. [Stockton][Genora] Jones and Mrs. W. O. [Will Oscar][Maude] Hudson of Elbert county, and Mrs. W. J. [William][Rosalie] Hammond and Mrs. L. G. [Leonard][Laura] Hammond of Lincolnton. ------------------------------------------------------
