Maxwell, one of the oldest citizens of this section of the state, died at his country home near here yesterday. Several years of his life were spent in Hartwell, Ga., where he owned real estate, but of recent years he has rented this property, prefering the quiet country life. He filled a very prominent position in social and business circles, being a large slave-holder in ante-bellum days. He leaves a wife and seven sons and daughters, all of whom reside in Georgia. His youngest child was born after he had passed the threescore and ten. Had he lived till November 30 he would have been 94 years old.
