Final Rites Held For 
Mrs. Peyton McMullan 

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 5 o’clock in Rock Branch 
Baptist church for Mrs. Peyton McMullan, 68 years old, who died Friday 
afternoon at her home in Gaines district following a long illness.  The Rev. 
J. C. west officiated and the Elberton Department Store, funeral directors, 
had charge of arrangements.  Interment was in the church yard.

Mrs. McMullan is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. H. 
V. Bond, of Elbert county; C. E. McMullan, of Iva, S.C., Mrs. M. L. Stratton, 
Jim Martin McMullan, C. W. McMullan, of Elbert county, and Robert McMullan, of 
Athens.  The following sisters and brothers also survive:  Mrs. A. J. 
McMullan, Mrs. W. J. McMullan, Mrs. T. W. McMullan, G. B. Crawford and H. O. 
Crawford, all of Elbert.
