J. Nelms passed away Monday. "Mr. Tom Joe Nelms, about 65 years old, native and lifelong resident of Elbert county, successful farmer and business man, and one of the best citizens of the community, died at his home near Longstreet Monday afternoon, following an illness of several weeks. "He is survived by his widow and the following children: W. M. Nelms, M. W. Nelms and Mrs. Ira Bell of this county, and Mrs. G. P. Maret of South Carolina. "His body will be laid to rest in the cemetery at Bethlehem church this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The funeral services will be conducted by his pastor, Rev. A. T. Hind, assisted by Rev. J. C. West."
