The Elberton Star, 2 June 1953
Austin Patterson died Sunday in Pottsville, Ark., and his body will be brought here
for burial. 
Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock, but further details
have not been 
worked out pending the arrival of relatives. Complete plans will be announced by the
Martin 
Funeral Home.
Mr. Patterson was born and reared in Elbert County. He left here when a young man,
but a few 
years ago returned to Elberton and operated the Colonial Jewelry Store for several
years. He 
later sold the store and went to Arkansas. He had been in poor health for some time,
and late 
this winter he visited Elberton, put the family lot in Elmhurst cemetery in good
shape, and 
arranged with the Martin Funeral Home to conduct his funeral, a service he declared
would be 
needed within a short time.
