He was alone, hauling logs in the woods near the Savannah river when the tractor struck a log and turned over on him breaking his pelvis and other injuries. He was not found until later in the day by family and friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoor at the Bethlehem Methodist Church by the Rev L J Cole and burial will be in the church cemetery. The Martin Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Mr Saxon is survived by his wife, four children, Robert L Saxon, of Baxley; Thomas Saxon, of Oakland, Calif.; Mrs Emma C Sizemore and Mrs Cora Nae Patton of Middleton; five brothers, Joe, Ben and Walter Saxon, of Oglethorpe county; Ollie Saxon of Millen; Eddie Frank Saxon of Crawford; four sisters Mrs H C Carithers of Anderson SC; Mrs Paul Johnson of Dewey Rose; Miss Lena Saxon of Crawford; and Mrs Gip Erwin of Elberton. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
