Fitzgerald Ga. Newspaper
  The funeral services of J. Looney Smith, 83, of Fitzgerald, who died 
Saturday, was to be conducted at 2 pm today at Paulk Funeral Home here with 
interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
  A native of Elbert County, Mr. Smith has resided in Fitzgerald since 1925. 
He was the retired owner and operator of Smith Standard Oil Station and a 
former operator of Westside Service Station, both in Fitzgerald. He was a 
member of the Church of God.
  Survivors include his wife, Rubie P. Smith of Fitzgerald; a son, Larry Smith 
of Dillard; a daughter, Janice S. Vickers of Fitzgerald; two brothers, E.C. 
Smith of Morrow and J.B. Smith of Fitzgerald; six sisters, Irene Hughes, 
Moddie Smith, Lois Parsons, Ruby Douglas and Vidalia Hayes, all of Fitzgerald, 
and Lou Robinson of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren and a great grandson.
  Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
