Gaines Teasley, 89, of Heardmont Health Care, died Thursday morning after an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Elbert county, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Marvin Adams Gaines and the widower of Jeff O. Teasley. She was a homemaker and a member of Coldwater Untied Methodist Church. Survivors are two daughters, Sara Frances Knight of Bishop, and Tommie Doris Cason of Baton Rouge, La; one brother Mack Gaines of Hollywood, Fla; three sisters, Orene Ward of Elberton, Lula Brown of Anderson, SC, and Betty Shorter of Columbia, SC; several grand children; one great grandson. Funeral services were held at Coldwater United Methodist Church, Saturday, October 21, 1995 at 3 pm with the Revs. Albert Askew and Carol Fox officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were James Carroll Bond, Gerald Oscar Bond, Joel Vernon Bond, Ray Williams, David Williams, and James Chris Bond. Hicks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
