Obituary - Gertie Bond Whiteside - 9  Feb 1979 


The following obituary appeared in the Elberton Star newspaper on 
9 Feb 1979: 


"Mrs. Gertie Bond Whiteside, 89, of 708 New Ruckersville Road, died
Wednesday morning at Elbert Co. Hospital after a brief illness. She 
had lived most of her life in Elbert Co., a daughter of the late 
Boykin Raiford and Mary Agnes Sanders Bond, a member of Francis 
Asbury Methodist Church and the widow of Charlie C. Whiteside. 
Surviving, a sister Miss Thelma Bond of Atlanta...Burial was in 
Elmhurst Cemetery." 


[Additional information: Gertrude "Gertie" Bond was born on 
1 Oct 1889 and died on 7 Feb 1979. She married on 18 Dec 1923 in 
Elbert Co. to Charlie C. Whiteside, he born 14 Oct 1893 and died 
15 Nov 1977.]
