Eavenson (1817-1898)of the Centerville community of Elbert Co., GA, son of George Eavenson (1782-1842) and Mary Hilley (1781-1855). He had eleven children by first wife Sarah Smith Thornton and ten children by second wife Frances Jane Hunt. The two wives were first cousins to each other, both being granddaughters of Benjamin Thornton, Sr. and his first wife. George W. served in the Cherokee Disturbance and later guarded prisoners at Andersonville during the Civil War.
