The house was home to Louisa's parents Lt. James C. Hall (CSA)(1832-1862) and Mary Adaline Loftis (1832-1885), to James' parents John Pryor Hall (1797-1838) and Mariah Louisa Turman (1808-1881), and built on land previously owned by Mariah's parents George Turman and Vileta Higginbotham. The people in the photo are: Standing, left to right, Joseph Brown, William Asa, Mary Emma, Ed Conwell (husband of Augustus Franklin "Gussie"),Blanche Cleveland (family friend), James Marion and Thomas Jefferson Fortson. Seated, left to right, Gussie, Sarah Louise, Louisa Catherine, Jessie Adeline, Asa Chandler, Fred Hall (in lap), and George Harold Fortson. One additional child, Edna Elizabeth, was born in 1896. Asa Chandler, Louisa Catherine and Joseph Brown are buried in the Hall-Conwell-Fortson cemetery located in front of the old home location.
