Additional Comments:
Elbert Co. marriage records show John W. Ayers and Georgia C. Bartain were 
married on 19 Dec 1885, and Willis J. Ayers and Mary Rowsey were married on 2 
Oct 1856. Hart Co. cemetery book shows W. J. Ayers, born 9 Apr 1837, died 23 
Feb 1905, buried Flat Shoals Baptist Church cemetery. While the death 
certificate only showed Jeff Ayers as his father, it is known from other 
sources that Willis J. was Jeff Ayers. Also that the mother's name shown as 
Rumsey on the certificate was actually Rowsey. The 1870 census of Elbert Co., 
Centerville District, shows the family of Willis J. Ayers, 33, wife Mary, 36, 
children Martha 14, Sarah 11, John J. 8, Willie P. 6, Elizabeth A. 3, Henry M.
6 months, and Ely Ayers, age 24, farm laborer (a brother of Willis J.). Willis 
J. and Ely were sons of Morgan Ayers and Nancy Higginbotham.
