His birthdate is shown in the family Bible of Thomas J. and Martha Higginbotham 
Bond. Elbert Co. marriage records show he married Henraetta S. Norman on 20 Dec 
1873, and Thomas J. Bond and Martha Higginbotham were married on 1 Dec 1846. 
Cemetery records for Concord Church show a James W. Bond, Co. H, 38th GA Inf., 
CSA, with no dates. The Bond manuscript by Catherine Bond Gheesling (decd) 
shows that he had no children but he and wife adopted Cone Eavenson Bond (1892-
1933), son of his sister by her first marriage. Thomas J. Bond was the son of 
Willis Bond and Leah Carpenter. Martha Higginbotham was the daughter of John 
Satterwhite Higginbotham and his 2nd wife Martha Ricks.
