21 Jan 1885. Fork Creek cemetery records show Joseph A. Butler, born 11 May 
1863, died 16 May 1924, and Mary J. Butler, born 10 Jul 1869, died 9 Feb 1944, 
dau. of J. N. and Lucy Hall. An article by Harold V. Hall in the Elbert Co. 
Heritage book shows Joseph Albert Butler married Mary Jane Hall, dau. of James 
Nicholas Hall (1844-1904), Confederate Soldier, and Lucy Elizabeth Brown (1844-
1917), dau. of Joshua Clark Brown (1818-1864) and Elizabeth Pendleton Vaughn 
(1818-1904), and that James Nicholas Hall was the son of Thomas Hall and Nancy 
Lowrimore.
