married on 4 Nov 1847.Doves Ck.Cem.book shows Ella M. Thornton (1861-1938),    
wife of D.W. and daughter of Asa and Donnie Almond Thornton. Elbert Co. marriage
records show Asa C. Thornton and Dorcas M. Allmand married on 1 Dec 1857. The 
book "Eavenson-Strickland and Allied Families" by Sexta E. Strickland shows 
that William Thornton was the son of John Thornton (son of Benjamin Thornton, 
Sr.) and Frances Adams (dau. of William Adams and Catherine Mansfield), and 
that Asa C. Thornton was the son of Rev. Benjamin Thornton, Jr. The 1860 
Elbert Co. census shows D. W. Thornton, male age 6, in the household of 
W. T. Thornton and wife L.A.Thornton.
