Marriage

The following wedding announcement appeared in the
25 Jan 1906 edition of the Elberton Star newspaper: 

"David-Carrington

"A marriage of interest to many occurred near Bowman
last Wednesday, Miss Alice Cornelia Carrington was 
wedded to Mr. Atho David of Madison County. 

"Many relatives gathered on that crisp winter day at
the lovely home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. 
Walter A. Carrington. Rev. E. R. Goss in an impressive
manner performed the ceremony . 

"Miss Carrington is a daughter of Mr. W. A. Carrington,
a wealthy planter of upper Elbert, and possesses many
womanly virtues. Mr. David is a prosperous young farmer
and merchant of Madison county. 

"Both have many friends who wish for them happiness and
prosperity in their realm of usefulness."
