Marriages

The following wedding announcement appeared in the 21 Dec 1899 
edition of the Elberton Star newspaper: 

"CHILDS-THORNTON 

"At the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry 
Thornton, on Wednesday afternoon, December 20, at 2:30 o'clock, 
occurred the marriage of their daughter, Miss Lilia May 
Thornton, to Mr. Edward B. Childs; Rev. Thomas A. Thornton, 
of Hartwell, occiciating. "
