Sandidge stated that his father Claiborne and mother Jane were married on 24 Oct 1802 while residents of Elbert Co., GA, that Claiborne was a Rev. Soldier who died 9 Feb 1843, and that Jane died on 8 Dec 1827, both Elbert Co. Additional Comments: Since Elbert Co. marriage records only begin in 1805, the above is the only known record of the marriage. Various early Elbert Co. legal documents show Claiborne Sandidge referring to his wife Jane as a daughter of Samuel Higginbotham.
