James Adams of the state of Georgia, Elbert County, be in health as common & injoying the blessing of my Reason & in perfect mind & memory I do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament first my body to the earth & my Soul into the hands of God who gave it a touching the concerns of this world where with it has pleased God to bless me in my old age with 3 tracts of land lying in the last purchase I give & devise & dispose of the same with 2 other draws as follows. First It is my desire & my will to give to my son John C. Adams who has taken care of me in my old age my lands as follows the first lot lying and being in the 15 district of the 3 section & the 24 number of sd district & section. Also the second lot in the 20 district of the 2nd section the 61st number of sd district & section. Also the 3 lot in the 18th district of the 3 section & the 174th number of sd district a gold lot 40 acres with my other 2 draws yet not drawn with all the land lots or gold lots that I have drawn in I may draw of any district section or number. Also it is my desire he the sd John C. Adams shall have an equal part with my other children of the rest of my estate. These is William Adams, Samuel Adams, Ann T. Gaines, Jane Teasley, Elizabeth Seales, & John C. Adams I give an equal share of my estate except those lots & draws that I have given to my son John C. Adams. Also it is my desire that John C. Adams & Lawrence M. Adams my Lawfull Executors to this my last Will & Testament etc. & by these presents I do rattify & confirm & ordain this my last Will & Testament revoking & disanulling any & all other bequeaths or Will by me in any wise made heretofore. Court of Ordinary, September Term, 1835 Personally appeared in Open Court James Adams, Memory Thornton and Samuel Adams and being sworn saith that they were present and saw James Adams sign and seal & acknowledge the foregoing instrument of writing as his last Will & Testament and that they assigned the same as witnesses at the request of the Testator and in his presence and that they believe the Testator to have been of sound mind and memory at the time he executed the same.
