I Lawrence M. Adams, being of sound and disposing mind and knowing the uncertainty of life do make this my last Will and Testament: First: I will that after the necessary burial expenses, all my just debts be paid. Second: That my grandson Lawrence A. Gaines have one hundred dollars in cash to bear interest from the date it falls into the hands of his guardian; and I do hereby appoint Francis M. Gaines guardian for said grandson. Also that my granddaughter Ellen Frances Warren have one hundred and fifty dollars in same way, and I do hrereby appoint John M. Warren guardian for said granddaughter. Third: That after my death, my Executors proceed, as prescribed by law, to sell all the property both real and personal, belonging to my estate, and to make an equal division of the proceeds to the foloowing (now) surviving heirs; deducting from the amount due each one, the portion alreadygiven during my life, which amount is here-annexed to each one's name; so that all my finally share and share alike viz: My son James W. Adams, seven hundred dollars. My daughter Frances P. Gaines, three hundred fifty dollars. My daughter Mary A. J. Gaines three hundred & fifty dollars. My daughter Drucilla C. Gaines three hundred dollars. My son Beverly L. Adams seven hundred dollars. Fourth: And I do hereby appoint Frances M. Gaines and Beverly L. Adams as Executors of this my last Will and Testament. Lawrence M. Adams seal State of Georgia, Elbert County, August 2nd, 1873, We and each of us do certify that the above Will has been signed by the Testator in our presence this day, and that we have witnessed this instrument in the presence of each other and at the special request of the Testator. B. C. Smith, J. L. Thornton, F. P. Thornton." The above Will was admitted to record in common form of Law, June term, 1885, Elbert Court of Ordinary and recorded 1 June 1885, Geo. L.
