Will of John Booth 17 Jul 1874 Elbert County, GA STATE OF GEORGIA, ELBERT COUNTY: In the name of God Amen, I John Booth of the state of Georgia, county of Elbert being of sound mind and memory. And considering that uncertainty of this frail transitory life do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last will and Testament. 1st Item: I will my soul to God who gave it and my body to be buried in a Christian like manner. 2nd Item: I will to my beloved wife Anna Booth the land and appurtenances situated thereon being the land on which I now reside in the State of Georgia and County of Elbert. Also all my household and kitchen furniture (except my clock) plantation tools One set Blacksmith tools, one cow and calf for her sole use and benefit forever, and at her death to dispose of as she desires. 3rd Item: It is also my will that my Grand Daughter, Martha A. C. Sanders have my clock at my wife's death. 4th Item: Likewise I make, constitute and appoint my three Sons, to wit, James C. Booth, Asa J Booth and Samuel S. Booth to be Executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my name and affix my seal, this the seventeenth day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy Four.
