Record Book 1830-35, Page 32 Written: December 3, 1830 Recorded: September 8, 1831 "In the name of God Amen I John Bray of the State of Georgia and County of Elbert, feeling myself advancing toward the close of life tho yet of sound mind and memory do make and ordain this my last Will and testament as follows (viz) First of all I recomend my soul to God who gave it and my body to the dust from whence it came to be buried in Christian like manner at the discretion of after named Executors and as to my worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with I dispose of as follows, Viz 1st It is my will that all my just debts be paid 2nd It is my will that my son David Bray and my daughter Sarah Dean have the sum of one dollar each, all of which sums to be made out of my estate. 3rd It is my will that my daughter Anna Coker have the sum of twenty five dollars. 4th It is my will that my wife Patience Bray have the land whereon I now live and one mare called Bounce, during her widowhood and at her death or entermarriage, to be sold with the rest of my property and to be equally divided between my daughters Avy, Nancy, Delinda, Rhoda, Patience, Zoe and Elizabeth Bray, except they can agree and make an equal division of said property between themselves at any proper time. 5th And I do hereby constitute make and ordain John Sarten Senr and Larkin Coker Executors to this my last Will and testament. 6th I do hereby revoke, nullify, and make void all former Wills by me made or signed and I do confirm and acknowledge this my last Will and testament in withness whereof I the said John Bray have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, this the 3rd day of December 1830. his In presence of John X Bray (seal) John W. Attaway mark William C. Cheek" "Georgia, Elbert County) Court of Ordinary, September term 1831. Personally appeared in open court John W. Attaway and William C. Cheek and after being sworn saith that they were present and saw John Bray sign, seal, and acknowledge the within instrument of writing to be his last Will and testament and that he the said testator then appeared to be of sound disposing mind and memory at the time he executed the same and that they these deponents subscribed the same as witnesses all in the presence of each other and in the presence of the said testator and at his request this to the best of their knowledge.
