I, Edward Brown of the State and County aforesaid, not being in health of body but of sound mind and memory, do make this my last Will and Testament at the same time utterly revoking all former Wills made by me, declaring this to be my last Will and Testament. In the first place I give and bequeath unto my wife Lucy Brown, three negroes Jef Jack and Mandy a girl, one bed and furniture one good horse and saddle and bridle, and also the plantation known and distinguished by the Lowery plantation, also provisions and plantation tools sufficient for making a crop and in addition to all this any part of my stock such as cows, hogs, such as she may desire during her lifetime, then it's to be equally divided amongst the Legatees that are named in this my last Will and Testament - after paying all my just debts that may be rendered agreeable to the Law made and provided in such cases, I give and bequeath the residue of my estate to my children to be equally divided amongst them all (viz) Reuben Brown, William Mills, William B. Campbell. I also give bequeath unto Amos Rows five Dollars. I give and bequeath unto Amos Rows children anws equal part with the rest of the legatees Milton B. Ro3ws, Eliza Rows Washington Rows, Thomas Rows, Francis Rows, Grantham Rows, Lucy Ann Rows, and the part that was coming to Mrs. Sarah Booth is to be equally divided amongst her children John Westly Alman, Jones R. Alman, Catharine Alman, Lucy Ann Alman. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Booth five dollars, and all those of the legatees that has previous taken more of my est. than their proportionable are to refund back equally to the others. At the same time I do appoint my only son Reuben Brown of Monroe County and William Mills joint executors of this my last Will and Testament to which I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 20th day of January in the year of our lord eighteen hundred and thirty four. [Submitter's notes: The maiden name of his wife Lucy is unknown, nor are his or her parents' names and his birthplace. His daughter Nancy was married to William Mills,his daughter Catherine was married to Amos Rose, and daughter Lucy married to William B. Campbell.
