Record Book 1830-35, Page 12 Written: November 9, 1826 Recorded: May 3, 1831 "Georgia, Elbert County) I Zachariah Dickerson of said State and County being weak and sick in body but of perfect mind memory calling to mind the uncertainty of life, do make constitute and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament revoking all former ones, recommending my Soul into the hands of Almighty God, and my body to the earth to be decently buried by my friends and Executors. And as for my worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with, after my burial expenses and just debts is paid, I dispose of in the following manner and form. (To Wit) 1st I give and bequeath unto my wife Nancy Dickerson all my estate both real and personal during her lifetime, and after her death to be equally divided between my six children (viz) David, John, Robert, Polly, Dolly and Rhody and their heirs forever. 2nd it is my will and desire that as much of my stock and household and kitchen furniture should be sold on a reasonable credit for cash as my wife Nancy may wish for her support and convenience, and also my present crop or as much of it as she my wife may think proper, and after my Will is proven and recorded, and my estate appraised, for there to be no more trouble with it but for it to be managed as my wife and my Executors may think proper, without keeping accounts or making returns to the court of Ordinary. 3rd I do appoint constitute and ordain my wife Nancy Dickerson and William White my executors to this my last Will and testament, In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of November 1826. White mark Winston Oliver" "Georgia, Elbert County) Court of Ordinary May term 1834 personally appeared in open court Joseph Blackwell and Winston Oliver two of the subscribing witnesses to the last Will and testament of Zachariah Dickerson decd and being sworn say that they were present and saw Zachariah Dickerson sign seal and acknowledge the within instrument of writing to be his last Will and Testament and that he the said testator then appeared to be of sound disposing mind and memory at the time he executed the same and these deponants further say that they together with Thomas S. White subscribed their names as witnesses to the same and in the presence of the said testator and at his request.
