Edwards and made application to be appointed guardian for his children to wit. Mary Ann Edwards, Elizabeth Edwards, Catherine Edwards, William P Edwards and Louisa Edwards for the purpose of receiving the distributive share of the estate of Joseph Goode Deceased of Rutherford County and state of North Carolina which may be coming to the said children, they being the great grand children of the said Joseph Goode deceased, and the said William H. Edwards having taken the oath prescribed by law, and given bond with Thomas Burton security in the sum of one hundred dollars over and above any bond required for property already in this state belonging to said children, which bond and security was approved off by the court. It is ordered by the court that the said William H. Edwards be & he is hereby appointed guardian for the aforesaid children and it is further ordered that the Clerk of this Court do issue a letter of guardianship to the said William H. Edwards for the before mentioned children this 5th day of September 1848.
